Can we please post these in the correct threads. This thread is for knife collections 🤪
Mahalo!
Ah sorry I didn't realise. I'm not sure it's possible to get my entire knife collection in one post. I have probably close 40 knives.

Re: Show us your knives!

Did not know Cris was still around. Nice handle. May be just the light but it kind of looks like there is a hole in the edge. A gap where the heel and the front portion connect. Yeah he's still around. I was in touch with him in Feb around about when I was waiting for my knife to arrive. I'm trying...

Re: Show us your knives!

It's been a while since I got a new knife. Recently this got delivered. It's by Cris Anderson. A 215mm Nitro-V XH gyuto with a triple dyed cotton wood handle with mammoth tooth

Re: S Grind

I have a Dalman I received back in March. I really enjoy using it. The S grind really stands out when cutting things like cucumber. The slices just fall off where other knives would have the slices stick to the blade. It's my first and only S grind knife but I'm really pleased with it.

I got the knife back. A little over a week as they were busy but I wasn't in a hurry anyway. Here's a before/after

Re: Damaged knives

Don't want to be hijacking this thread, but the title suggests it's open to others. Was just using my Matsubara b2 to cut up some yams on my edge grain cutting board and noticed a strange mark along the edge on only one side of the knife. At the top part of the mark, there's a small lip that catche...

Re: Damaged knives

That sucks! Exactly why there is a standing rule in this house that NO ONE touches my knives. I had a knife chipped pretty well by a line cook where I work my "second job". I use a monosteel blade that was relatively cheap (Richmond GT) as a line knife now. Others grab whatever knife is c...

Jason, a chip like that is an opportunity to: Learn, gain experience, and... Purchase a consolation knife  You know, it's been a while since my last purchase. I'll keep an eye out! It seems the ones on my wish list are ones that are near on impossible for me to get these days like a konosu...

Damaged knives

Last weekend I had some people round. I didn't think to put away knives I'm fine using, but maybe they're not suitable for the general public. Inevitably one of my knives got chipped. I'm pretty annoyed but it is repairable. I dropped the knife off at a place that I knew about and stocked japanese k...

Re: Recent Work

I highly recommend carter. I've enjoyed the discussion we've had in making a custom knife. Sometimes its a custom handle for a knife from cktg and recently a knife I've designed and printed on weird shaped paper to life size. It's been such an ease and his passion in making knives shows and I've lea...

I think the way you've got this is spot on. Like you said this brings out the hamon really well. If it was a higher polish it wouldn't be so much contrast.

Re: New Arrival - Anryu AS

They are very similar to the Koishi! Though I'm really happy with my Anryu 210mm Hammered, if this AS was without the kurouchi I would probably pick up one too. I started using the Anryu 210mm last weekend and had forgotten how much I like it

Depending on if you're planning to get more of them, maybe have their own section under Accessories. Add-On feels like a general dumping ground of stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else

Hi Jason - Happy for it to go to you, but you would have to cover shipping on that one....I have another customer in London, he might split shipping with you.
Could give it a try. Just need to work out how much it'll be
