Re: Tanaka B#2 Damascus thinning

Yikes. I've been away for a while. Life's a little crazy right now. Dan! Thanks so much for the kind words. You, as well, were a pleasure to work with and I'm delighted that you are pleased with the results. Candidly, this Tanaka had a pretty bizarre stock grind and it was a bit tricky to rectify. I...

Re: Custom Ikeda/Takahide Project

It was a real pleasure to work on this project with Steve and I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been a small part of what has ended up being a gloriously sexy piece of steel. Really stunning work, Steve! One regret I have in working on this knife is that I never weighed it. When it arrived I ...

I am not done with Chris either and he knows it! I need atleast one or more 240s.
I've got the steel but I'm holding off on customs until the grinder upgrade. October, hopefully ;)

Re: The CJM knives family photo.

I'm in the same boat (sans re-handle) - my Ultimatum had/has a great profile, but it was not what I took out every day. Had a thinning done by Chris and it is now my everyday knife. I still love the ultra thin Kikuichi stuff, but my eyes have been opened - if you like your knife profile wise but th...

Re: The CJM knives family photo.

The old Richmond Artifex blades are interesting, quality steel, great profiles and Peterson heat treatment. The grind on them is designed to take a lot of abuse instead of performance but even a basic home thinning can significantly improve the performance and with an expert sharpener like Chris th...

Re: The CJM knives family photo.

I'm not really sure what I'm looking at here...or what CJM even stands for. I must be out of the loop! Oh, I see: CJM as in cjm...our expert thinner! Still, a bit of blade info would be nice. CJM are my initials, Joe. It seriously creeped me out when I saw that Ben knew my initials and then I reali...
