Re: New arrivals section - my thoughts
Finally some one said it. I thought it was just me. It may be a good money maker but I for one am not going to pay an extra $100.00 for a knife. I can appreciate the craftsmanship that goes int the handle. Its doesn't make the knife perform any better. I have purchased over 20 knives, all from CKTG,...

Be careful storing any knife in leather, it absorbs moisture and may rust your knives.

Re: How I convinced my wife I needed more.
Fortunately we have zero money problems. Credit cards paid in full monthly, no mortgage, pay cash for new vehicles etc. You are correct some people have more month left after the money. Didn't mean to get this far off topic. Sorry about that. Ray

Re: How I convinced my wife I needed more.
Not against a happy marriage at all. It just didn't work for us. At 76 years of age I have had a female live in partner for over 40 years and could't be happier. We share all household expenses 50/50 from our own retirement monies. We too share our normal daily activities as Kit mentioned. When we w...

Go for it Ken. I am sure a lot of us would be interested in your technical world of grits. Sounds like there may also be other options that the grit particles can be suspended in beside water. Educate us (at least make an attempt). Ray

Stupid Question - Water on Stones
Hi Guys, Not to get off topic, but my previous post about water on stones really was a Guiness Record stupid question. Glad you guys all had a good laugh. I had to laugh at myself. The thought just came to mind and I posted it. For the record I was sober! Don't get old, your brain doesn't work right.

Water on stones
Does the type of water used on stones make a difference? In other words does it make a difference in performance such as mud formation if city water containing chlorine and fluorine, well water containing minerals or distilled water make a difference in the cutting ability or feedback of synthetic o...

Re: Ceramic rods on Japanese knives?
I have 4 Idahone ceramic rods. Every one of them has some chips or high spots on them and were that way OOTB. I was able to remove the high spots with a diamond stone. The chips I don't know how to get rid of. I would not use them to hone a J knife. I use them only for softer European knives, they w...

Preventing Rust on Carbon Knives
Hi Guys, New member with my first post. Hope it is helpful. It is obvious that rust is a problem with carbon steel. I have been storing my knives in their sayas in a metal office type file cabinet. I have put a Golden Rod heater in the bottom of the cabinet, the same type of heater used to prevent f...
