Re: How do I find a good mid grit natural?

I figure I’m happy with my Shaptons up to about the SP2 as far as edges go though they do seem less useful for refining the blade road. I figure ...

Re: Good Sauce for Bugs

When we were kids, now that's going back about 60 years for me, we used to have a little club house in the woods. I remember a time when we fried up a bunch of Japanese Beetles in a skillet. There were only 6 of us in our club because eating the beetles was the only way to join. This kept all the gi...

Re: Egg Recipe Problem

My doctor told me " no more eggs or cheese " so now I cheat and learned a new way of making my eggs taste better since I remove the yokes. I just scramble about 4 eggs in a bowl along with a little yellow mustard and chopped onions and some pepper and turmeric. This has become a bit of a h...

Re: Hard boiled egg problem

I don't have or keep ice so I do it the hard way and just take them from the boiling water after 12 minutes and peel them under cold running water. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, same as with all the other methods. All my eggs come fresh from my chickens. Brown eggs peel easier then wh...

I have some neighbor friends who are poor and they would think they died and went to Heaven if they had those knives to use in their kitchen. Sometimes it is not how much they cost.

Send it back and get it replaced by another beater knife under their warranty. Sounds like a good plan "A" to me.

I have many stones but the Rika 5k still remains my favorite for the reasons that Mark states. The Rika and I communicate well together.

Re: Hunting knife needed

How do you find the slightly smaller Bobcat vs the Classic Drop Point? Based on online specs, the blade is about a quarter inch shorter but the handle is about a half inch shorter. Blade is also thinner on the Bobcat. Any preferences? Noticeable differences with the different steels? six or one hal...

Re: On what grit/stone do you finish HD2?

I have a bunch of stones and admittedly, I have gotten quite lazy in my sharpening habits and for a long time, my go to stones have been a SP 1k and finishing on a SP2k. Just these two stones make me happy and satisfied with any steel. They are cheap and easy too, a win win situation.
