Re: How to detect a burr
Q-Tips! They work great for very subtle burrs. Just drag it along the edge, if the fibers catch and pull out your edge is not smooth, you need to get rid of the tiny burr or wire edge pieces.

I love skinning our melons like that too - but how do you go about doing that to a watermelon? Last time a put a Jknife against the rind of a watermelon I j...

Similar thing happened in my building last year. I bought this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FLR0ET8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I bought this same unit about 6 weeks ago, was looking for some ability to prepare some foods right on the island. It took a day or t...

Another great place to play, Meals On Wheels. We did a stewardship thing for work one day and I ended up doing 4 hours of veggie prep with their knives. I told the girl I should have brought mine and she told me I was welcome to anytime. She told me I didn't have to do it through work at all, I coul...

Re: What kind of duties / custom fees do you pay?
Duty and Customs fees have nothing to do with CKTG specifically, they apply to any purchase made in the US and shipped into Canada based on dollar value. The only way to avoid this is to have it labeled as a gift and no business is going to put themselves in that situation. It is easy enough to find...

Yes, belt sanders are very fast, in fact, so fast you quickly make smaller knives out of big ones.ChefKnivesToGo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 27, 2019 8:03 am Guys with belt sanders use those. Devin could do this one in about 1 minute with his belt sander.
Don't ask me how I found that out, LOL!

RIP Red!
Our buddy Red had his last cigarette and went into the gas chamber (oven).
But, as always, he made us happy right to the end.

Re: Vote on in stock out of stock feature
I think I am leaning toward option #1
I like to see that it is out of stock before I click on it. Some vendors don't tell you until you have wasted time getting to the product page.
I also like to see the price even if it is out of stock.
Just me .........

Thanks guys! That is an old photo for sure, but it is my "hobby", LOL! The one circled is a Muteki, the front row is Carter IP, Muteki, Carter PK and TF Maboroshi. The TF is definitely a favorite, the handle is by Carter Hopkins. Question on Ben's handles, that one was pretty early for him...

Mark, I want to see a picture of you photoshopped on an iron throne of knives. Because you are the true King of the North America. (it helps if you know anything about Game of Thrones...)
