Re: WTS Selling - Devin Thomas ITK 270mm Wa-Gyuto AEB-L - Custom Handle $540 + Shipping

The Buy-the-Seller moniker seems apt here and this seller falls well short on so many levels.

Re: WTS Selling - Devin Thomas ITK 270mm Wa-Gyuto AEB-L - Custom Handle

Not sure where you purchased but Mark was charging $300-350 for these blades back in the day. I can't seem to include photos. The Insert Images button is not working. One can find photos on Kitchenknifeforums.com. I have included the receipt for skeptics but that is what was paid. There is no recei...

Re: My Denka no Hoto Journey

Really interesting story that helps me understand why people still go crazy over TF, despite what I read about imperfections. Makes me also reflect on my similar journey with a couple of my more expensive knives. Initially I thought most expensive = must be 100% perfect, and was disappointed when t...

Re: Konosuke Updates

I don't believe the 175g weight for the 240 with that height and thickness. The shorter, thinner W#1 240 FM with ebony handle weighed 175g I think this is weight without a handle. If you compare to the FM page, it lists the FM weight (for the taller height versions) as 130 grams, which is exactly w...

Morihiro, the original Kono Fujiyama Sharpener. I don’t keep up with these things but I believe he hasn’t worked in sometime. Not sure thats true. He has worked recently on the limited edition Kono's like the Togo Reigo/vintage Swedish steel knives from what I understand. In any case its a beautifu...

Re: First Time with Iron Clad Knife - Patina Questions

Some knives are more reactive than others. A lot skip the dirty browns and go straight to rainbow blues and oranges. I find my Kato's and Honyaki's do the latter.

Re: Coronovirus in the kitchen

TX is also seeing a rapid increase in cases. Its just nuts looking at the way people are acting like the pandemic is over and its business as usual. I work in a medical center and we have taken a step back from the phased return to normal activity. Being on the front line so to speak we can see the ...

Re: WTS kono 300 yanagiba

For if/when Ray realizes he already has a dozen of these... :) Do you know the steel type (probably stamped on the backside)? Also, if it is a Fuguhiki, it should be clear by the thickness at the spine and (potentially) a double-bevel...certainly the weight implies this is a Fuguhiki or Suji rather...
