Re: Show us your new handle

I love seeing all these cool handles made with beautiful wood and other materials... I'm not finished with this knife, but it's my first time using curly koa wood. It wasn't a primo piece but dang the wood itself is just so chatoyant and beautiful in the light that I bet even a plain jane piece of ...

Re: Show us your new handle

A new handle maker joins the ranks, and this guy appears to be way ahead of the learning curve. Sean (nakneker) has been toying around in the wood shop with his son, and he made this fantastic two-piece handle for my Kikuichimonji using a killer piece of Hawaiian koa and African blackwood. Sometime...

Re: Show us your new knife!

Haven’t posted for awhile. Picked this Radar slicer up a couple weeks ago. 10,000 layered Damascus. This is my first Radar, you pick it up and you know why his knives are held in high esteem. WTB Raquin Nakiri & Gyuto

I missed Ashy’s 265 Raquin the other night. I’m trying to find a Raquin between 250-265 in length, Tractor grind or regular grind, either would be desirable.

I’m also after one of his Nakiri blades. Any size.

It’s a long shot but I gotta try. I have three of his knives and have become a fan!

New to me TF! I know they sometimes don’t get a lot of love around here any more, but this one is seriously good. No wonkiness. Well, next knife I order from Mark I’ll definitely request that he pick out the ringiest one for me ;)
If you bought knives that had a specific note, you could buy enough to play bohemian rhapsody maybe. If not, you have all those kick ass guitars to do that.

Re: Push or pull

I’ve watched a few videos on how to sharpen with a whetstone. My blade is It’s a Kato VG-10 Gyuto. Some indicate the edge is pulled away or dragging the edge on the stone, others push the edge on the stone. I guess either works, or is one technique better or worse for a particular blade? Your guess...

Re: Suggestion: List Weight in Grams

I’ve never really had a need for the metric system. However, it seems the world of knives and stones uses it a lot. So now I think in metric when talking about blades and the specs of a stone. It’s amazing how Mark is always so willing to improve this site with just a suggestion. Thanks Mark, this i...
