Removing Mazaki handle?

Looking for some advice on how to remove a handle, any handle, that looks as if it's glued. My Mazaki has a nice d shaped handle with a buffalo horn ferrule I would like to save for something else maybe (if it's possible). Just worried about damaging the tang by hammering off. Thanks and can post pi...

Re: Sharpening Gear Questionaire

I think soft and hard stones need to be better delineated as well. I like soft stones that generate lots of mud, but that does not mean the abrasive is softer - just the binder. They do cut a bit slower in general, but I took a very soft finishing stone to a HAP40 knife for another one of the cooks...

Re: What did you cook today?

Oh and timos, do you brine your chicken before smoking? I find that that helps tone down the smoke as opposed to doing it "raw".

WTB Mazaki 240 Hairline/Yahiko 240 Hairline

Missed my opportunity with J David's posting so putting some feelers out there. Been looking to get my hands on a Mazaki for a bit now and was curious if someone has one that's sitting around getting dusty. From what I read he was doing the yahiko knives at one point before he started work under his...

Thanks Bensbites. That's super helpful as my cell doesn't do photos well. Love the handle just becoming somewhat particular in my profiles. Once again everyone, beautiful handle and unique shape that's really comfortable.

Hard to photograph. It's the line at the bottom and to the right from the front view. Again barely noticeable.
