Silicon Valley is a great show. Its probably even funnier for those of us that live in the Silicon Valley!
Yeah I love it, I've been rewatching it. I'm gonna miss Erlich in the new season though :(

WTS: Konosukes, Masakages, and a Few Others

Recently unemployed so I'm gonna have to thin my collection a bit. None of the knives listed have ever been used. I have not even cut a single onion to test the edge. All prices include shipping and paypal fees for the continental US. I will consider all reasonable offers. I can't consider trades at...

Re: Next stones to try, higher grit?

I'd recommend a strop with some good diamond spray/paste before a higher grit stone. Higher grits are great/necessary, but I see more results out of a strop than my higher grit stones. I agree that a strop can show a lot of results. However I think I find better results on my stone than my strop no...

Good time to start Westworld or Silicon Valley with new seasons coming out soon. Both are pretty good shows.

Re: What to expect from an all carbon steel knife?

I like natural patina, it looks cool. All of my knives have a fingerprint patina where I pinch grip too. I like the natural patina as well. I just hate a natural patina on a brand new knife, so I just like to get it over with lol See it is funny because I am way too lazy to force a patina. I ...

Re: 11 tips to be a better cook (if it fits)

I don't Allow EVOO into the kitchen unless it's from https://www.freshpressedoliveoil.com This is one of the most faked and ripped off food groups in America And none of the major brands come close to real. EVOO isn't for cooking it's a finishing oil Smoke point is too low to cook with and once you...

Re: Henckels, Shapton Glass, Meara ...

Why am I never satisfied with any edge I put on a non Japanese knife? Personally, I don't bother sharpening german knives because I know the angle is different and I'm not going to be proficient with sharpening them. I could learn, but I don't use any german-style knives to begin with, so I don't b...

Re: Anyone using a Loupe?

I tried for a while, but didn't really get any benefits from it. But I'm not an amazing knife sharpener to begin with. If it can shave armhair going with the grain, I'm happy.

Re: That gold thing on Moritaka knives

Unfortunately, this is the case. Am i the only one that wishes these didn't have a stainless tang welded on? --- It is a feature, don't like it? I dont care for the aesthetic. I have lots of fully reactive knives and don't have any problem with my handles rotting or my tangs rusting out. I guess I ...

Re: Looking for a 240mm gyuto

Rust risk on carbon knives is a bit overplayed IMO. I live in a humid environment and have never dealt with rusting unless a knife sat dormant for over a year. Though I do utilize silica packets for my knife storage.

Re: Masakage Koishi 210mm or 240mm

Length is definitely a personal preference. Until "you" try both you'll never know which you prefer. I also feel in this same vain that it's easy to get comfortable with anything. If you buy a knife that initially feels awkward, you can easily get used to it. It's also good to have various lengths ...

Re: What to expect from an all carbon steel knife?

I always force the patina immediately with some mustard. I typically like to give it a nice pattern, like a feather effect or something. Then I never worry about the knife developing a patina lol I like natural patina, it looks cool. All of my knives have a fingerprint patina where I pinch grip too...
