Re: Show us your new knife!
Why can't our significant others understand that it's NOT crazy to spend $500+ on a knife... :? Beautiful knife! :ugeek: I mean, really, it wasn't even $400. Even less than the Takeda and Masamoto that I bought last year. I'm lucky she hasn't castrated me. The fact that a Takeda and Masamoto can be...

Its what is in my hand most frequently. I'd be remiss if it wasn't there along with a Japanese gyuto.

This tattoo confuses me....a lot!!! 1. Don't knives have straight edges/lines? Your tattoo needs some time on a whetstone!!! 2. Food Doegn't??? That lowercase g should be an s Good news though....laser removal is rrrreally good these days. Lol, its a font called Amalfi coast. That's how the s looks...

Re: How far can I push a SP 2000?
I’d use the bench grinder like I do with all my knives. ( kidding, don’t do that) There may be some advantages to this situation. It will take you what feels like a very long time to get those knives Sharp. I’ve never tried it myself, start with a 2k for example. When done however, you may have gre...

Re: How far can I push a SP 2000?
They're dull, but not damaged. I also found a bench grinder in the garage. Hmmm... Unless you can control the angle with a jig, I think you could do more harm than good. Atleast i would rather go at these blades with a 2 K. Can you amazon a 220 grit? Yes. I looked already. I doubt my wife wou...

How far can I push a SP 2000?
My family got a vacation home for a handful of days. While it is equipped with Globals (not too bad!) they are pretty dull (bad.) I brought a couple of knives, and a Shapton Pro 2k for touch ups, but I'm curious if I could fix those Globals with it. Or is that asking too much of a 2k?

Yes, it's a KS. Honestly, I'm surprised that they're still in stock. Makes me feel a little dumb about leaping at it.salemj wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 9:47 amPretty sure that is a Masamoto KScedarhouse wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 12:04 am It's a Sukenari ya?

Re: Custom handled knife
Nice dude, hows the knife!? Very typical Tojiro. It's a nice blade that's a little rough around the edges. The handle is obviously fine, but I'll probably wind up taking the edges of the spine down a bit. I'm REALLY liking the profile on it. It comes down to a nice point, has a nice sized flat spot...

Re: Custom handled knife
Hopefully you'll dig yours! The knife looks awesome btw. So, my impressions on the handle. I'm pretty much used to just ho wood, or rosewood handles, so the material of the handle has a very different feel. I'd equate it to more of a high density resin instead of a plastic feel. Honestly, it remind...
