Re: Did USPS loose my knife?

A good read is "Post Office" by Charles Bukowski.
That will explain a lot.

I can vouch for the Takeda here. It's a great knife!
Extremely light as mentioned. Was always a NAS.

Yes controlled breathing will give you a better shot pulling a trigger. I'm sure some yogic masters can go into more detail on Pranayama breathing techniques for all of us :) --- Ken At least 2 years strong asana practice, preferably 8-10 years seasoned, is required before instruction on the basic ...

Re: Shohonyama Awase Toishi Pass Around

Great review Joe. I’ve been tempted to invest in a microscope for the same reason.minwatch a you tuber who is a stone fanatic and looks at Stone results through a microscope hooked to his PC after every 10-20 strokes. It’s amazing to see what the different stones do and I have to think it would be ...

Wow, that was quick. Thanks for the review Joe.

Macros look great but hard to tell what it would look like (cosmetically)...got any zoomed out shots?
Cosmetically the knives look as always. No extra scratches from sharpening if that's what you mean.
No change in contrast to speak of.

Re: Shohonyama Awase Toishi Pass Around

Here’s the stone that’s being passed around. First; thank you Mark, Sue, and CKTG friends for allowing me to give it a go! Before doing anything I relieved sharp edges and sealed the stone. If it were mine, I would have removed it from the base first, sealed it all separately, leveled it, then re-gl...

Re: Daovua sharpening angle

I used the thing today at my second job - quick strop this morning before I headed out. Did a couple boxes of onions with the thing and it held out very well - the edge on the thing seems to hold up far better than I would have expected - even at 12 degrees per side. Never felt I was giving up anything when using the Takedas, otherwise I'd just grab another knife.

"Owning more than one knife" is an understatement, speaking for most of us here.

Re: Takeda Classic AS 240

We have the same knife, 240x70mm, definitely "giant Santoku." Breezes though anything, zero wedging, perfect food release. Wet sticky potatoes just stay where they're supposed to. I constantly hear "this is the best knife we have." And "we're never selling this." And (careful here) "we don't need an...
