I'm back
Hey guys. I've been away for a while. I've been working a lot. I've also recently moved and set up a new shop/forge. I have made many knives lately, been making other projects, but I did make this petty a few weeks ago. It's made from Cru forge v. This steel is similar to 52100 with added vanadium f...

Re: Favorite unloved knife.
I think Goko knives are my pick. I like my yo gyuto a whole lot and I liked the nakiri a coworker owns and I periodically try. They had some horrible handles for a long time, but no more. The current handles are simple, excellently well made, and exceptionally appropriate. I think the nakiri is a g...

Favorite unloved knife.
I think it would be fun to talk about our favorite unloved knives. Knives that are not being talked about on the forum. Ones that don't get the attention they deserve. I absolutely love my masakage mizu, but I never hear anyone ever talk about it. It's a beautiful blade, pretty thin, and stays crazy...

Re: WARNING: Kiwi Rant!
This is a fun topic. I actually just received a kiwi in the mail a few days ago. I touched up the edge on a 6k and it got hair popping sharp. So far I kind of like it. It's just a cheap knife, but better than any cheap plastic handle knife with a celebrity chefs name stamped on the side. I too stru...

Tsubaki oil causing rust.
I was keeping my masakage mizu in a says with no oil on it. It has been in it for about a month with no use. A few days ago I put some tsubaki oil on the blade and returned it to the says. Today I decided I wanted to take it to work. The blade now has rust on it. Has anyone else experienced this ? W...

I love draw cutting through cooked pork loin. I have received more comments and "wows" from that than anything else. I also really like cutting strawberries.

I thought it was fantastic. I hope they make more like it, parallel stories to the originals.
