Re: WTS - Kato 210 Standard

Yeah unfortunately they have again gone up compared to 6 months ago. last ones that came through my hands went for 1.2k paypaled as well. Yeah, it's crazy! These are such cool, unique, awesome knives. Alot of knives you could sub another knife out and feel like it's an ok sub or similiar, but grind...

Now thinking 300mm is going to be the size.
I think 300 mm is the way to go for an all around suji imo. I also like full carbon for sujis cutting alot of proteins, patinas nicely, but that may not be the way to go for everybody.

Re: Show us your new knife!

What a trip. I hope you’ll do a recap of the whole thing when you return. A lot of stateside would enjoy hearing and seeing all about it. Seriously. Well, if enough people would like me to, I guess I can start a thread to highlight some of the places we went to here in Japan. The food has been spec...

Re: Konosuke White #2 Fujiyama No. 6 Cleaver

@ inzite the geometry on my Fuji cleaver from the last batch looked different to me than Mizuno cleavers(which I've only seen from pics). The finish and handle looked the same though. yeah it's probably also the variation between knifes. I've seen some thicker mizunos as well. —- The Mizuno if thic...

Mine will probably still be a while in the post. Can anyone confirm in the meantime: are these the somewhat typical 220mm x 110mm? I'm still trying to figure out how to store the thing...
Should be, I believe those are specs similiar to mine.

Re: PayPal Family & Friends

I recently posted a WTB for a Yo-Konosuke in the CKTG classified, and someone responded with an outside email. On Saturday Nov. 3, the seller emailed a couple of pictures, and we settled on a price. The seller wrote that he only accepted PayPay Family & Friends, which I used to send the money. Sund...

Re: Carbon Skillets

I’ve been watching this thread for a while and trying to resist but I don’t think I can any longer. I have a 12” all-clad copper core, 12” lodge cast iron skillet, and 14” cheapo wok that I use for almost everything. I have smaller pans but rarely use them. I notice none of you guys seem to be goin...

Re: Carbon Skillets

As my grandkids call them: the " ugly " skillets ( compared to the All-Clads ) may take some time to fully season but when they do, even crispy runny eggs slide right out. :) Yes they do :D http://i66.tinypic.com/2m2g6x5.jpg I agree. I have some carbon steel and a vintage cast iron that has eggs sl...
