Re: Konosuke comparison

Instead of making up rotations systems you - and me - ought to go speak with a counselor... :? Words like problem, reluctant collector, disease, addiction, "fallen through the rabbit hole" are all quite indicative, n'est pas? I too have turned into a "hobbyist" or a reluctant rotator, at least. Sig...

Re: Konosuke comparison

I find that having searched for "the perfect knife" I have purchased so many "very nice to great knives" that I just don't cook often enough to justify having them all. It get right back to personal preference and I find that some very excellent knives just sit... Oh I'm so passed that it is no lon...

Re: Thin Santoku for home user

Might I suggest the Konosuke HD Santoku. A true laser that is balanced and finished as well as any knife made.

Re: Konosuke comparison

I’m quickly becoming convinced of the aftermarket- finding someone to customn grind your blades and make customn handles. I’ve been trying to buy the perfect knife for too many years with no solution. Find a knife close to what you want, get a good grinder involved to really get what you want out o...

This is the first of these sales I've looked into, and couldn't get over the deals. Just had to pull the trigger.
The wife when the box arrives:
Just cook her a fantastic meal in whatever you bought.
Happy wife :D

Re: All-Clad Factory Sale is ON!!!!

Almost pulled the trigger on a 12" copper core... but... chickened out. Just got what I hope is a lifetime 14" fry pan, and a whopping 8qt stainless pot.. I got two boys, and a third on the way. My older siblings tell me I might be cooking for two adults and a couple kids now, but soon I'll...

Guys please do not make side comments on WTS threads. Positive talk about knife or seller is OK...the rest is not.
Mahalo!

Re: Show us your new knife!

For reasons beyond my comprehension, I thought I would walk out of the Bladeshow without a new knife. Murray Carter master smith 200 funayuki https://i.imgur.com/A93jrRY.jpg https://i.imgur.com/mQN33vb.jpg That is a stunner. I love his work and that is one of the nicest I've seen. Congratulations!

That is really interesting Peter. I have been using your method since I discovered it and it resolved all of the sharpening issues I used to have. My abilities and confidence almost immediately grew to a point that I was no longer intimidated by the process and more importantly, had a reference for ...

Picked this up while visiting Konosuke in Sakai. It was explained to me that this was a prototype that was made years ago. It is VG10 smithed by Kenichi Shiraki before he kind-of retired. https://i.imgur.com/lUCFI1g.jpg https://i.imgur.com/NOfBzeZ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/g2DKyit.jpg https://i.imgur...

Sean, go for it mate. I bought one of the Westerns and it is an absolute slayer of onions!
After all these years Kono HD's are still unique knives and truly worthy of their reputation.
