Re: Konosuke Fujiyama Blue #2 Gyutos at the Show

Congrats to those going to the show.. Double congrats to those picking up this amazing deal... I would love a chance at this offering but cannot make the show.. (I may be doing a Steelhead project in Russia that is Government sponsored). The first relatively expensive knife Mark sold me was a B2 270...

Yo MC, You are going to love, Love, LOVE that blade... Beautiful job on the handle and Saya as they really make the blade stand out... My Mizu Kono/GM Mt. Fuji Fugu is by far and away my favorite blade ever for cutting pre-processed fish filets. The Fugu is a brilliant way to go on the finest and de...

Hi Matt, If only you were selling a MD handled, Kato Dami or Shig Kitaeji , single bevel, Kiritsuke 230 - 260 Gyuto...or non Kirituke.. Okay, if that is too tough then how about the same items and smith's version in Honyaki??? You must have 3 or 4 of each of those in your amazing collection...LOL Sa...

Re: Show us your new knife!

Thanks Jamie, good to hear from you! I still owe a big thank you for all the insight when I was buying my first suji and convincing me it was a pattern worth investing in. My Shig suji probably sees more work than any other knife in my block during the summer and the holidays and is one of my favor...

WOW, As always, Matt's work is a cut above.. Matt, you always seem to find ways to think out of the box to come up with amazing handles for any style of knife.. If this one balances and looks as great in person as the ones you have done for me.... Holy cow...Pictures cannot do them justice. Someone ...

^^I do have a Shiraki honyaki from Konosuke and am a huge fan of that knife. I'll most certainly have to check out Jikko. Jello  Is it a gyuto? I still do not have any honyaki gyutos. Have to fix that soon. It is indeed (surprise, surprise :?)! Another reason why I need to move into tradit...

Yo Maui, You are going to love that Kono by Genkai Masakuni on Sashimi for a while now.. I have a lot of fish cutting knives but Unquestionably this is my knife of choice on my finer more delicate filets as well as the buttery sections of Tuna back straps... Sharpens up like a razor and has zero re...

Matt, What have you done for me lately?

Good morning all, It has been an amazing few weeks as I anxiously awaited the deliveries of 2 new knives I had purchased from CKTG. Both of these items were Honyaki blades and items that Mark was kind enough to send directly to my handle maker of choice after purchase. Therefore, having never actual...

Wow Mark,

What a great prelude to seeing the final product.. I am sure you are waiting very patiently, without any excitement or angst.. LOL. Bated breath is undoubtedly an understatement. Super excited to see the final product though I might be a bit sad when the telling of the story ends..
