masakage koishi 240 gyuto and bunka - SOLD!

Hi, Looking to sell a masakage koishi gyuto 240, and a 165 bunka. They have been used and sharpened, but they dont look like they have been thinned. They both have a bunch of life left. This I'd like 220 for the gyuto, and 120 for the bunka. 310 if you get the pair. Pictures: https://drive.google.co...

Re: Trying for a 240 mm Gyuto

I like the harukaze srs15 a lot, very good grinds and steel. The knife is not much to look at, has a (very good) western handle, and a curvy profile, bit i dont think that neither of those is a bad thing. The grind hits the sweet spot, it is very thin, but still inspires a lot of confidence, the tip...

Re: What do you think about this grind?

It seems fine. Many grinds do not follow the edge in a parallel even way, kato's knives are ground similarly, it offers a thinner tip and a heavier middle of the knife grind for better food separation and release. Another example are knives with agressive taper, like some TF ive seen, the knives are...

Re: Best Active Japanese blacksmith ?

These are my favorite blacksmiths. Tokifusa Iizuka. Best feeling steel on the stones, silky, buttery. His knives are the total package, grinds, steel, fit and finish, performance. Teruyasu fujiwara. Have only used his w1 knives, the ones ive handled had zero grind issues, they have great taper, and ...

Re: Masashi Yamamoto, anyone?

He trained at yoshikane, i believe he is the nephew of tsuneo yoshida. His profiles are unique, they dont appeal to me, so i havent used his knives, but i have read good stuff about his grinds and steel.
