Long story shortened - my wife's remains were left on the back porch. You can screw around with my knives and stones b...

What a generous offer! Admittedly if they were any less expensive you would think they were stolen lol. A great place to sharpen your third knife

Re: My wife passed away on 7/12/2021
Well I did say I'd revise this later. Here's what I wrote up for her obituary: I just submitted my wife's obituary which will come out in about a week. Here it is including a picture. My wife of 25 years passed away on July 12 2021 from complications from her hip replacement and progressive osteopor...

Perhaps. 'The enemy of good is perfect' - He may be happy with it just the way it is.

My wife passed away on 7/12/2021
My wife, Mani Gazdar-Schwartz passed away on July 12, 2021
I'll revise this post later. I'm too depressed to write something up right now. She was the love of my life. We were married for 27 years. RIP

Getting too hot to work. Water shortages, high gas prices, etc. Fearing spontaneous human combustion Got pulled over by the police for having the dog in the car (with the air on).

I too would leave the logo. Removing it might be like having just one clean spot on your car finish.

Re: Best stones for a dark kasumi finish
I've had good lunch with the 2k, 3k and 15k bamboo stones both separately and in sequence. These are not cheap stones, but they usually work well for this task. You also don't necessarily aim for high contrast. But more of a black haze or kurobikari finish. Some other stones of use here are the 180 ...

Re: How do you clean a strop?
Bunch of helpful stuff. And also for what it's worth Pocket Strop, which is a strop company that sells hand held leather strops and the rouge type compound, actually recommends a bead or two of oil, even olive oil, to loosen the compound when it gets glazed with swarf. Works great, although I've on...

Note that scraping roughs up the surface. Try the eraser first.

I found lanolin changes the draw or coefficient of friction on leather.
Haven't experimented on nanocloth. I would try Dawn on it. Alcohol will ruin nanocloth.

Try the pencil eraser mentioned above or separately use lexol. On nanocloth don't use alcohol. Green rouge - try Dawn dish soap.

Re: Selling sayas without the knives
Custom sayas for unknown knives? What could possibly go wrong? Seems like a custom job. You will need to add a separate complaint department, possibly a psychiatrist Perhaps outsourcing this task to a custom saya maker who charges for a custom fitting job.

I did have a pic done some time ago of a edge done at 3.0, 5.0 and 7.0 degrees on a Takeda sujihiki. It was done using a Gizmo an early sharpening device that to this day accomplished a number of firsts.

I've seen zdp-189 brought up to hrc 67. A good steel and a 'natural' for platinum stones.
