A little more about this knife. For one thing, I don’t know Japanese single bevels very well. I was informed this is probably a Fuguhiki which is a lighter yanagiba, a bit shorter at the heel made specifically for cutting blowfish. Although I’d probably use it for any fish myself.

They haven’t been made for awhile but they come up now and again in the BSTs. I’ve played with a few of them, just had a couple fitted with custom handles. Watch the classifieds. As far as new they haven’t been made for awhile now.
