Matt, What have you done for me lately?

Good morning all, It has been an amazing few weeks as I anxiously awaited the deliveries of 2 new knives I had purchased from CKTG. Both of these items were Honyaki blades and items that Mark was kind enough to send directly to my handle maker of choice after purchase. Therefore, having never actual...

Wow Mark,

What a great prelude to seeing the final product.. I am sure you are waiting very patiently, without any excitement or angst.. LOL. Bated breath is undoubtedly an understatement. Super excited to see the final product though I might be a bit sad when the telling of the story ends..

Funny,

She had just told her boyfriend that size doesn't matter. I am beginning to think she might have lied.

Yo MC

I am with you regarding that handle. #2 was the inspiration for one of the next handles Matt is creating for me.. I love all of these items but #2 just resonated with me.

Re: Can anyone Identify the Kanji and Smith?

That's the kind of knife type that will get us hung up on. :) Mark, It's just my Chugwater, Wyoming state of mind...If you don't ask you don't get...If you don't sew you don't reap.... And now I live in Cali...in a citified, semi gentrified sort of world...However, unlike many who reside in my area...

Hi Mark,

I am very excited about receiving this blade back from Matt. I might also be interested in a Tall, Polished Honyaki K tip 250 Gyuto, single bevel.

Re: 330 MM of Suji Honyaki perfection

wow, what a huge blade, using it at home or work? Both home and traveling Sashimi work. I work with large slabs of fresh Tuna and other finned critters. Though I may use this on other proteins, I will not be using this near bone. I cannot wait until I get it back from Matt to put it through it's pa...

Re: Can anyone Identify the Kanji and Smith?

Hi Joe, No doubt this Konosuke/Genkai/Fuguhiki will be a very special Sushi/Sashimi knife.. I have not heard of another one of its kind other than Yanagiba versions. At least nothing on the net. No doubt Matt will create another master-piece of a handle using his mix of modern meets traditional meet...

Can anyone Identify the Kanji and Smith?

Good afternoon all, I purchased this Fuguhiki from Mark in the last Kono sale.. The Kanji appears on the tang. I am told that the hamon pattern looks like a previously released blade called the Moonight series but I do not know..The smith noted for those blades was/is very revered for his work. Can ...
