(Repaired) Devin Thomas ITK 225mm Gyuto

Post by ashy2classy » Wed Apr 26, 2017 9:14 pm

It arrived home about a week ago, back from the skilled hands of Tim Johnson (@timos) who graciously offered to repair the blade that got tipped during shipment from the seller. Until it was delivered, I had myself paranoid that the repair would not match the original finish of the blade and would stick out like a sore thumb. Boy was I wrong! I couldn't be happier with TIm's work - it's fantastic! I haven't used it for many tasks yet, but wow this thing can cut! I can't wait to put it through its paces to see what it's really made of.

Anyway, the purpose of my post...the pictures!

Well done on the tip repair. She is a beauty! If you ever decide to let go, give me a shout.

Nice work, Tim, even if it's just some tip repair. It's good to see that knife healthy.

Looks darn nice! I remember you were somewhat anxious as to whether it would be worth purchasing such an expensive knife in the first place, and then to have it arrived damaged in transit must have felt terrible. I know my DT ITK is one of my favorite knives, so I'm hoping you're enjoying yours fully now!

Nicely done, Tim! Glad everything got accomplished without too many attorneys and too much paperwork!
