Right there with you. I stopped playing that game along time ago. Way too many other great knives out there to stress about it.
What is it that draws you to the Konosuke...maybe we can assist in helping to find another?

Re: Konosuke W2
Thanks for the offer and I very well may show up in the "Help me pick a knife forum" in the future.
The above wasn't a whine. Actually it may have been a blessing. Need to get one or two for my wife that I will like a bit at least.
But to answer your question. For sure the hype plays a role. But fit finish always draws me and the thinness of the blade is a big plus. Honestly don't think it is the knife for me but would have like to try it out. I did get the 220 blue around christmas, since it was laying around for an hour or so, but didn't like the profile after looking at it so just packed it up and put it away for the time being. Was hoping this would have had a flat spot.

Re: Konosuke W2
These new FM are not that hard to come by as they are making them quite regularly now.
On the other hand, the wide bevel Blue #2 is a unicorn and very tough to get hold of.
I think...but not for sure...that the Blue and white FM have about the same profile. I believe there are few members that have both and maybe even have posted profile comparisons. Would be a good thing for you to check out.
If you are looking for more of a flat spot you could seek out a Fujiyama Funayuki. But good luck with that
For many people it is all about the game. If you could buy every knife you fancy at the drop of a hat where is the excitement, the anticipation. The thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat
Not to mention the bank balance!!!!
Happy slicing David!
