Re: need testers/feedback
Hi guys, both of these pass around knvies ....the 165mm nitro v petty and the 250mm 15n20 blade are out and about. feel free to PM me your assessments or post here. Either way is fine with me. These are both experimental blades , so dont hold back on your criticisms. I thrive off of it

Re: need testers/feedback
The 250mm arrived here a couple days ago but it will be after the weekend before I can put it to good use.
You went serious flat spot with this one! Looking forward to seeing how it does.

Re: need testers/feedback
If you are interested in trying out a good heat treat joint (carbon monoxide atmosphere with great oven control along with quench in oil or water at differing temps) pm me. I used to do a lot of heat treat on hysteresis rings for gyro spin motors (mostly military stuff) and the guys I worked with back then are still in the Chicago area. Top notch and would probably work with you if there is a long term plan.

Hey Tim, I have the petty. Been working it over pretty good. I'll have feedback later. Where is this going next? Thx, Codytimos wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 3:39 pm Hi guys, both of these pass around knvies ....the 165mm nitro v petty and the 250mm 15n20 blade are out and about. feel free to PM me your assessments or post here. Re: need testers/feedback
Hey all, just wanted to post an update on this project. I got some great feedback on the two knives in this pass around. When JT posted earlier this month that he was going forward with his plans to provide me (and others) with heat treated blanks in this reclaimed band saw steel, I jumped at the chance. the heat treat he has dialed in on this steel is brilliant. However I was not in love with the big 250mm blade in this pass around and Im not sure that many of you were either. So....Lets do the 15n20 steel in the assassin V petty design! So far the assassin V petty has been the quickest selling thing for me. Feedback has been awesome on this design too. Also got some really well thought out feed back from cody paul on the handle in particular. Many thanks cody!
Heres an interesting pic from JT,. you can probably tell which blades are mine
Here is a pic of the petty design..I had them for sale at the NCCA show in Mystic last year, no bites. Put them online though and they all sold promptly. Feedback has been good on this hybrid design. its a bit of an all purpose knife with enough kitchen knife characteristics to still be called a petty. Basically a decent flat spot with a versatile belly and a very nimble tip. These will be cool pettys for those who like monosteel high carbon knives.
