Syousin Chiku Magaki 240 - SOLD!

Post by J david »

For your consideration is a Syousin Chiku Magaki 240 Aogami Super stainless clad gyuto by Yu Kurosaki from Knives and Stones. You can read more about it here http://www.knivesandstones.com/syousin- ... -kurosaki/

I've had this knife for a while now and it has been one of my favorites. I have gone custom crazy lately and have to make room. I have thinned this one and and gave it a semi-mirror brushed finish that is easy to maintain. It's performance is laser like while still having a nice weight. It balances exactly at a pinch grip. It is very thin behind the edge and has a small edge bevel. It glides through product very nicely. The fit and finish is excellent with a rounded and polished spine and choil. It has the nice upgraded ebony / blond horn octoganal handle with a silver spacer. Comes with original box. These are currently out of stock. Asking $245 shipped CONUS. Buyer responsible for paypal fees if any. Specs:

242.8mm heel to tip
51.3mm tall at the heel
2.8mm spine above the heel but quickly tapers to 1.9mm in about 1cm.
1.8mm spine about half way
.9mm spine 1cm from tip
194g

Every one I have had has been very well installed. What I am curious about is declared "Country of Manufacture" is China!

Most of mine have been as well, but there was-is that one that the silver spacer was raised horribly. At some point I’ll fix it. James is Chinese I believe and I think he has some business interest in China.....

Is that what it says on the customs form? I've never noticed.

I know but the blades are made in Japan...
if the handle is installed in China, does it qualify as manufactured in China?
Maybe it is a customs thing he does?
