Just got this earlier this week but it's not working for me. Used lightly to test a few carrots and peppers. Performs well but not my thing. Never sharpened.

I was under the impression that all of his new knives were with the new profile, not just for JNS. I still believe this is the new profile as the older profile had a lower tip and more pronounced "beak". I'll double-check with CC.

That very well may be the case. I just wasn't sure. Also, I didn't know if it was new vs old stock. The old profile is actually quite nice it's not really as flat as it's made out to be.

The “new profile” has a pointier tip, more taper and weighs less. The weight of this one matches old profile.
Regardless of weight the older profile has a lower tip than this version. There is more upsweep with this one.
I looked at the pic of mine again to see if I could tell anything. Looking at it, it does appear that the tip may upswept a little more and the profile a little different. Perhaps, the cleancut handles add a little extra weight to, idk for sure, just saying maybe?
