woah guys, thanks for the replies and kind words and pm. I've replied to mauichef via pm .
marc and co - this is my reference cutter up there with my in person hand picked denka - only reason for selling is because I've been using only my cleavers for the past month or so and this one sits in the knife roll - again absolutely fantastic cutter and I've also put in some time on high grit jnats to give it a proper kasumi.

That's a sweet pick up Ray, I'm jealous.
If God wanted me to be a vegetarian he wouldn't have made animals taste so good.

Haha! Glad I could help.
After reading inzite's post about how well this one cuts I got really curious. Made me want to try it out.
I think you're going to REALLY enjoy this, Ray. Will this be your first HF gyuto? Joe does some really nice work. One of my personal favorites

I have been wanting to get into more American smiths and Joe has been on the list for a while.
I took one look at that spine shot and hit the PM!

Re: Halcyon Forge 190mm K-Tip Gyuto - SOLD!
i believe it should be about 3mm or so at the heel and 1cm from the tip is less than 0.8mm (i dont have caliper to measure it to the exact), very thin behind edge as a very acute edge bevel is pretty much invisable. Spine and choil fully rounded and not just chamfered so its hard to measure with just a ruler.
