Help Identifying Knife

Hello guys, can somebody help me identify the blacksmith/branding on this knife? A friend brought it back from Japan for me but he didn't hang on to any info.

Dont really know the kanji, but the way the heel in rounded remind me of a jikko..

Is there nothing on the other side? Any box with writing on it? Any sticker that came on the handle?
