My friends love my Akifusa and want to buy a copy of it, but the price of it's nearly doubled since I've bought it. I've been looking around for them and the Harukaze PM look to be very very similar. Weight, profile etc. If you've had any experience with both these knives or have other recommendations for a stainless/PM knife that's durable enough to be used at home by people who probably won't take the best care of it lemme have it.

If you do a search in the old forum for Akifusa, you can find other names the knives are sold under.
A few smiths do this, different name for different vendors, same knife.

"...Akifusa == Ikeda == Artisan, same SRS-15 powder metallurgy(PM) steel, same maker, just different brands. Although, Artisan knives are tad thicker than Akifusa brand. Blade geometry is essentially the same." http://zknives.com/knives/kitchen/ktknv ... g240.shtml
The Haruyuki SRS15 is said to be the same knife also.
