Wow... Spent all weekend it seems fooling around with this knife on the stones. Finally got the edge dialed in I think. I just got done taking it up to about a 5 - 6K edge finished on a Meara. Tomorrow I'll finish it up with the rest of the JNats and a strop.

This is definitely a fun little knife and .... I think it'll perform... Take a look at the last 2 slices that was just the weight of the blade.

Look Ma! No hands. That's just the weight of the knife.

Sorry about the link. Haven't quite figured out how to get this forum to embed video yet. Looks like my syntax is off.
I just saw your video. Nice job!

To embed Instagram videos you delete everything from “http to the last /“. I assume the same is true for YouTube.

Thanks. Figured it out. The YouTube syntax is to add the video ID string right inbetween the the [YouTube] brackets.

Pretty psyched about the knife. It was still cutting tomato handless even after using it to make dinner tonight. Seems like the edge retention is pretty good.

Tomorrow I break out the JNats and strops. Then we're really going to see what this baby'll do.

OK. So it's off to Gopher tomorrow. The JNats did their job and this knife is definitely sharp. I used it exclusively to cook dinner tonight. Did another curry. A lot of on board work mincing ginger, garlic and even used it to chop an onion. I found the tip absolutely remarkable and while it wouldn't be my first choice to chop an onion due to size --- it wasn't bad.

So after dinner I went back to the tomato. I couldn't get it to cut without hands. But a couple of strops and ---- back in business. Very nice.

BONUS: Look at the beautiful blue patina it's developing:

This one should be landing at Datsters place any day now . Rob, That patina is looking very cool, I was really curious to see how this blade texture will wear with use!

Got it today! Took forever obviously but it made it. Very cool little Ko Bocho. Got to play just a little wth some fruit and veggies. I'm hooked just on the looks but it also cuts nicely. Excited to play over the weekend
