What's the block on the front left? Walnut? Ironwood?

Yup, that’s spalted jatoba. Not my knife, but I did buy that block for my cousin’s birthday.

Here is a 230mm gyuto made of 52100 carbon steel. It is hardened to 62HRC and has a pretty thin blade and a nice distal taper. The handle is dyed and stabilized Oregon maple burl with a ferrule and endcap of buffalo horn with nickel-silver accents. It is available for $275.

I dig the profile as it looks like there’s a nice little flat spot near the tip. That’s a pretty fantastic price!

Woke up this morning to the first snow day of the season....calling for 5-8" today. C II Bladeworks shop looks good covered in snow.
