Re: Show us your knives!
Mahalo Arthur.
It's taken many years to get this lot together. Always hunting......
I just love single bevels. Using them, sharpening them, there is such a huge difference to double bevels in every way.
That Togo Reigo is one of my most treasured blades. Top 5 for sure.
It takes such a different cutting technique to other gyutos....in fact I hate to admit that I tipped it the very first time I used it
The handle is made from Kurogaki, which is 200 year old Black Persimmon.
Along with the Togo, the Genkai usuba is probably the rarest of my singles. Made under the Fudo Kuniyuki brand, it is a huge chunk of Honyaki goodness that makes me grin every time I hold it.
That little DP is a real fun knife. Bought it for my wife who also enjoys using single bevels.
The Doi deba gets the most use of all of them.
I will never stop kicking myself for not buying more of his knives when Mark had them readily available in stock. No one does Blue #2 like Keijiro did. No one!
One thing is for sure. My humble collection would not be this focussed and cohesive without the help, inspiration and input of the members of this forum

Re: Show us your knives!
Thanks Ray, I always enjoy reading people’s thought processes around knives as it is the nuances from knife to knife that makes it so much fun for me.mauichef wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 12:48 pm Mahalo Arthur.

Oh he knows...
I think he - and all of us - are relishing it. Slowly slowy
