Just got this pic from my good friend. I gave her and her partner a Yahiko VG-10 gyuto (the rebranded Tojiro) as a housewarming gift.

Good thing I didn’t give them the Takamura R2 I was holding on to... :?

I wish my friends would gift me nice knives... I’d still be smiling in happiness while the doc stitched me up!

So I don't have to ask if it's sharp out of the box.
Unless you put your own edge on it first.

Yiikes. How did it happen? Assuming the brand new blade didn't slip off an onion.

That will heal in no time. Barely a flesh wound.

Sometimes that first cut with a sharp knife is so miraculous users often slip into a slight dream like state and loose control of body functioning....the realization you have been cutting with crap up until this point is often too much to bear.

One of the edc manufacturers I've bought from in the past includes a band-aid in the packaging with their knife shipments. I thought it was cute of them. I can't remember which one, though. It may have been TRM.
