What happens when you gift a knife

Just got this pic from my good friend. I gave her and her partner a Yahiko VG-10 gyuto (the rebranded Tojiro) as a housewarming gift.
Good thing I didn’t give them the Takamura R2 I was holding on to...

Nope! I was gonna ease the spine and choil but didn’t even do that.

That will heal in no time. Barely a flesh wound.
Sometimes that first cut with a sharp knife is so miraculous users often slip into a slight dream like state and loose control of body functioning....the realization you have been cutting with crap up until this point is often too much to bear.

One of the edc manufacturers I've bought from in the past includes a band-aid in the packaging with their knife shipments. I thought it was cute of them. I can't remember which one, though. It may have been TRM.
