Konosuke New Website.
The new Konosuke-Sakai website is live.
It has some really cool info that until recently was kept rather secret.
Lots of great photos and of course, more stuff to empty your wallet.
Enjoy!

Very nicely done indeed!
No choil shots, though.
Nor MM series, either

Re: Konosuke New Website.
I could be wrong but I think I remember hearing that the MM line is discontinued. Guessing that might be why it's not on the site.
Re: Konosuke New Website.
You didn't hear wrong.
Still, I think it got mentioned under Myojin's little blurb... I'd think it would be a point of pride to show also lines that are not carried, and perhaps smiths that have worked with them before. A "Legacy" site, of sorts. I don't know, I'm just rambling cause I have a couple of those MM's and want to see more about them. O think deep inside I want to attach to them so strong as to exclude any future purchases (or more accurately, futures urges and "wantsies") of other Konos.... hahaha.
Looking at photos like the ones on that site don't quite help with the temptation.

Looking at http://www.konosuke-sakai.com/index.php/hd2/ I see their HD2 gyuto 240mm at 110 grams (3.88 ounces). Is that realistic?

Mine, though 7 years old, is 149gm. If they are 110gm they would have to be ground to foil thin. Mark lists them at 136gm and Steve G's quick look video list it as 135gm.michael1778 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2020 10:24 am Looking at http://www.konosuke-sakai.com/index.php/hd2/ I see their HD2 gyuto 240mm at 110 grams (3.88 ounces). Thank you for listing the new website. Now I want another knife. That tetsujin looks like it was designed for me. Did I miss these on new arrivals?
Like others have mentioned about the weight, 130 grams with 4.4 mm. above the heel seems pretty crazy.
