Really hoping to get a Fujiyama someday. One I knife I couldn't afford when they were available. Now that I can afford one they can't be had.

The new fujis remind me a little of my kono ginsan(fujiyama).

Wow those new blades look absolutely amazing. That is one of the reasons I have turned to J knives. It is because it isn't just about having an amazing knife. It is about the story of how that knife came into existence. The knowledge being passed down for generations. The work that goes into making such knives. I have an HD2 and hope to someday get a Fujiyama. Osoreirimasu Kosuke for taking time to update us and talk with us on our forum.

Also we've updated about the vintage carbon gyutos here!

Still we're thinking how to choose the customer who will get..
(blades are limited but requests are huge)

We may take the "lottery style" after we show the price.

(still making the special handle and box now. Thank you for waiting..)

I have one of the earlier versions of this steel (then marketed as Togo Reigo) with a khii kurogaki handle you made for Tosho a few years ago. It is one of my all-time favorite knives and steels. These will be a real treat I'm sure!

^^^Chip, you should do a short review. I feel like your relationship with this knife took a long time to develop and that you didn't ever really sum things up on the forum once you found the connection. Share it with us!

Comments: I'm short, a home cook, prefer lighter, thinner blades, and own mostly Konosukes but have used over a dozen brands.

Is there some description between the above mentioned MB and MM series?

I could've sworn I wrote a good bit about the knife, but perhaps not. If I could only keep one knife in my collection it would be that Kono Fuji Togo Reigo. I'll spend some time pulling together a quick review and perhaps the timing would be good to summarize all the various Fujis I've collected ahead of these new releases

Ditto on that Chip!
I love my Togo Reigo. Stunning in every respect. It also has the Khii Kurogaki handle. My most treasured Fujiyama knife for sure.
I cannot wait to see the final version of this new one.
Kosuke. Thank you for sharing the information and updates.

^^ I remember that you also grabbed one! You've got quite the Kono Fuji collection as well. If I remember correctly maybe Jacko bought one of the other Togo Reigo gyutos but one with the Ebony handle?

Your memory serves you well mate.
Love those Fujiyamas Chip, just like you....I believe 11 so far and two on the way ;)
Yes I do think it was jacko who snagged that last plain Gyuto. It was you and he who inspired my Togo purchase.
They had a yanagiba sitting there for quite a while but I could not swing the purchase. Regretting it now.
I would love to see a review/summary of your Fuji's...you bring so much info and insight to these knives in particular.

Chip, I am SURE you've commented on that knife a lot...and I remember noticing the subtle change in comments over time. What I don't remember is seeing a summary review of your thoughts after you connected with it...but I was always away from the forum for a while and perhaps I just missed it!

Good memory Joe. It did evolve from a knife that I certainly liked with steel that I loved into my favorite knife.
Maybe this evening or tomorrow I'll reboot that Konosuke review and discussion thread I started on the old forum. I think there was actually a ton of really good info there contributed by most of the Konosuke fans on CKTG.
Apologize for getting this thread sidetracked :)

I thought the MM series (and HM series) were both carbon-clad Blue 2 steel...Mark?
