Photobucket fixes

Post by nevrknow »

Looking around and found these. The add-ons work for me and hopefully it will help some others. I did a search on here and didn't see it so don't flame me to bad if someone has already posted this . :)

Meaning? Does it no longer work, already? I mean, I get the point, which is to look at links already posted but I think it would be a good idea for anyone still using PB to dump it for something else. I finder Imgur better anyway.

Oh it still works but was posted in another thread. Then again maybe someone hasn't seen that thread so may not be a total loss in posting this again.

I almost never click on non knife or stone related threads. As such I didn't know there was any sort of fix. This will be useful to me, for viewing old tutorials and such. However, going forward I have migrated all of my stuff to imgur and have replaced most of the photos in my reviews. I still have one or two I need to update.

Thanks for posting this. :)

Good idea to make this it’s own thread as it was kind of hidden in the other one. I wonder if they should sticky it?

I didn't do the fix, I am lazy but I could see his photos for awhile and then they went poof. Imgur...just easier that way.

Imgur works well...tried TinyPics for a while, but started having problems..Imgur has been 100% reliable and provides links that are true copy & paste.

I'll have to give it a try.
TinyPics used to annoy me with their constant need for entering an anti spam code but after signing up it rarely does anymore. I like the ease and adaptability of the set up and image manipulation.

Just an FYI all, there is nothing really stopping IMGUR or any "free" service from doing the same thing as photobucket eventually, it is still best practice for those of you who really depend on third party hosting to use a paid for service.

I will pay for a service when there is no other way... One can open a free forum or hosting site and store images there to host on other sites first. I am cheap. In fact, I would rather pay the forum that I frequent in order to expand direct uploading before I pay a hosting site.

Besides, just like anything else it seems that when one option goes away, another pops up.

I am not satisfied with Photobucket. Photos don't load automatically. I have to log out of both my desktop and phone apps, log in and move photos to the Photobucket folder.

Happy to pay for a service that works seamlessly and that I can easily copy links to photos to include on CKTG webpages.

Imgur seems to work fine for me. I really, really like it and I used PB for years. I don't do anything mobile so I have no idea if it has the same issue.
