Just trying to do something nice for my dad, who LOVES peanut butter and apples and good butter on his morning bread.
Had some scraps laying around. Goofed around with some different blade finishes, handle combos and techniques. Happy with what came out the other side.
English oak burl, stabilized, black epoxy fill (damn burl was way open) with black CA spot fills. White vulcanized paper, nickel silver spacer. Stainless nail cut up for pin.
Other was some scrap from large batch of curly mango....a few didn't have as much curl as anticipates. But still a wood with tons of character and looks kinda antiqued right out of the box. Black vulcanized paper and copper as spacers. Thick piece of copper ground cord from HD as pins. Sucker is something like 4 or 6 Guage. Thick!
He picked the burl, so I got to keep the mango.

You posted that you were shedding a few knives because you had something new on the horizon, so I figured it had to be pretty special. Wow . . . just wow! What a beautiful knife. Great shots, too.

Yeh, haven't been buying or doing much knifing for a while. Other than using the hell out of them with all the cooking we’ve been doing

Just received this beautiful big boy just in time for my birthday. Kurosaki Fujin As 270. It is a big amazing cutter. took it to work today and gave it a thorough workout. The grind on it is insane. So much knife. Thanks Mark!
