Super thin! I have not gotten to try Carter yet, but these pictures really pique my interest. Enjoy it!

Interesting honyaki, you don't not see as many kurouchi onesButlerHoosierChef wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 11:37 am Just got this monster of a knife today! Tesshu Abura Honyaki B1. This knife has a super sharp edge and yet is hefty. Very much blade heavy. A little bit in front of pinch grip! Definitely a workhorse knife!

Re: Show us your new knife!
I got to see some Carter MS knives at Blade and they were ground incredibly thin, possibly the thinnest hammered knives I've ever seen. It's not my favorite style paired with that height, but he does amazing work.

Re: Show us your new knife!
Here is the thing the knife also feels solid. Even for the height and thinness of it. It still feels like a nice hunk of metal that you are using to cut stuff with.

Re: Show us your new knife!
This is from Kosuke.......
Box : Kiri (Paulownia tomentosa)
Since long time ago in Japan, not only knives but also several special items has been included in the box made of this wood.
Handle : Jindai tamo with Maguro ferrule
Jiondai-tamo ; Tamo wood which has been under ground for a long time and turned to be a very different color from the original one.
Maguro ; A kind of Ebony. We call very black one as this.

Kosuke sent me a video on how to tie that knot so we could check the knife before shipping it.

I was so wanting to see the knife when it arrived I did not think to figure the bow out first.
I had a feeling they would have a video.
So very Konosuke!
