Re: Show us your new knife!
Thanks Pete.
Yes I bought it because I really like his grinds and heat treatment and the looks made me very curious.
Well 3 days in and I really am a very happy camper!
Put my edge on it yesterday and while it is a bulky knife...it really sings on the boards.
I will post my thought after I get it know it better.

Re: Show us your new knife!
This used zakuri blue 1 came in and performs great! Very little low spots for a knife in that price range - gave it a polish on my shinden suita (sub 100 USD)

Comet differentially hardened W2. Crazy hamon and ashi on this blade. 175x36 petty weighing 136g. Balance point exactly where machi exits handle. Quickly becoming one of my favs on the knife rack. Tip work is a revelation and tall enough to use on the board.

Just amazing! I'm still trying to decide whether I want a honyaki or san-mai from Trey. They're both sooooo good!Corradobrit wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2019 3:05 pm Comet differentially hardened W2. Re: Show us your new knife!
Don't think you can go wrong with either. The San mai Kasumi finish on Natural Stones is always a nice touch. As for his Honyaki I like the Hamon he's able to achieve with his HT.ashy2classy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2019 9:06 amJust amazing!
