My choil shot picture is not as good as yours gladius, but i tried my best.

It came out fine. The choil shots look close.
I find white backgrounds best but focus can be challenging.
Imgur has an edit feature that allows cropping and enhancement for better contrast, give it a try.
My Kuro Laser cut beautifully. I'd place it between the Makoto and Koishi. It was not all that laser like, though. Clocked in at 6.7 oz or so, above the 6 oz listed weight.
Grind was excellent. Slid thru ingredients easily and the extra heft helped on the tough stuff. I liked the tip better than the tip on the Kuro AS.
Of course, these hand-made knives can vary as we all know. I've used a Shimo that was svelte and another that was a bit chunky, for example.
In any case, the Makoto is the grand bargain on CKTG.
Jbart my kurasaki laser seemed to go through better than the kioshi i had, but maybe i just didnt work it hard enough.
The grinds on the makaoto do seem to start nice and high. Nice choil shot jeffb
My Koishi appears to be on the thinner side relative to other Koishis. But even if it isn't it cuts as well as anything I own. It nipped out my Kuro Laser, but not by much. The Koishi tip ... tipped the scales. (-:
Anyone starting to think that Makoto perhaps helped out his brother on a few grinds during his training?? haha. Cutuu's "laser" definitely looks more like Makoto, and the R2 laser also has some leanings...
It is totally plausible...in fact, I'd say it is very likely that this took place on several occasions through the years.
