Oh I do mate. I really do!
But $900 for RT tickets and 24 hours of travel time make it really tough for just 2 or 3 days.
However badly I want to shake your hand :P
A small price to pay to shake MY hand. ;)

Argh, that dreaded thing called work just reared its ugly head. I am out. Stuck in DC for the weekend. That being said, I already booked a stay at the Hotel Blake (using some timeshare points). I can change the name on the reservation if someone else wants it...lets make a deal. I can just cancel the reservation too. The hotel is the Hotel Blake in downtown Chicago. It looks pretty nice, but I have not used it. I was set to check in on the 15th and out on the 17th. Again, let me know if anyone wants to make a deal for two nights in Chicago.

BTW any knife makers that come to the party, I'll buy what you don't sell so don't worry about covering your travel.

Also, I'm going to do an email to all my customers within a hundred miles of Chicago and I'll be pumping this on Instagram and Facebook too. There are a bunch of pro cooks we sell to in Chicago and I want to make sure they have the opportunity to come for a visit. We're shooting for 100 guests but that's a wild guess at this point. It could be half that. The room we rented can handle it and there is a big bar right outside the room if we need more space.

Also, we purchased some gifts for all the forum members that are attending. I think we got 40 of them.

Current knifemakers that are attending.

Takayuki Shibata
Yu Kurosaki
Yoshimi Kato
Isaiah Schroeder
Devin Thomas
Tim Johnson
Carter Hopkins
Marko Tsourkan
Duy Pham (Duy, are you making knives yet?)

Also, if you plan on coming early I think we'll be doing dinner Saturday night and any of you that want to come are welcome. I'm not sure where yet but there are a bunch of good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel where we're staying.

I'll tart this up over the next few days and enter further event info. Feel free to PM or email me about stuff that should be included. The link will start on the Attendees page. You'll be able to enter a little about your travel info if you'd like. I'll run through this page tonight and make sure everyone who is on the list is entered in some form. You're all able to edit the attendees page. I'll look into backing it up or adjusting permissions so every account can reserve a row, but that's Google fu beyond me right now.

We should get on Alinea or other Michelin restaurants now if we want to try. I'm game.
Thanks for putting the spreadsheet together. I’ve updated a few names.
I'm bumping this to make sure people keep signing up. Email blast is going to happen today to IL, WI and IN.

Yes. I haven't made reservations yet but I would like to do Roka Akor for dinner on Saturday night. I'll ask them to reserve us their private room if there is good response to this. It's kind of pricey but it's excellent food and it's a short walk from the hotel we're at. I'll do a separate thread about this and see how much interest we get for the idea.
