This was a project knife from the day I received it as a second hand knife. I always planned to try my hand at making a single piece handle. Finally got the guts to give it a try and I’m happy with the results.

Ordered a Watanabe with no handle, bought a different handle earlier from Jobone, then saw this one of his, also. I always wanted a spalted tamarind handle, liking this combo.

Thanks guys! I honestly thought I was going to blow up this handle somehow. I did everything by hand so there was a lot of room for error. I did drill through the side on accident while drilling the tang slot but I filled it with Titebond. Luckily it’s on the bottom of the handle. Still happy with the outcome.

New handle maker (@Andreu571 on IG) joins my stable of customs, and I can’t say enough about the quality of his work. I love this handle so much that I’ve already commissioned a second one with him. This handle is spalted maple burl from Ben Greenberg (@greenberg_woods on IG), and the spacer is pearl acrylic, red G10 & copper.

That handle is beautiful, kinda looks like you may be a 49er fan. Andreu did a great job on my too, I liked it so much I got on his books for second also. I think we will be seeing more from him as time goes on.

Loving all the new handles! Here's the latest batch I got back from Tony LaSeur. A bit bland, but excellent craftsmanship.
