I thought I’d try and make a handle out of ironwood on the lathe, this is my first time on a lathe but my son helped tell me what to do, he made pens to help put him through college. So I gave it a try and this what happened, simple as simple gets. I ended putting a mosiac pin in the end of the handle just to give it some character. Gonna make another one for my other CCK, gonna try something a little different though.

You suck. I can't make you a handle but I can build you a picnic table. :P

You certainly deserve them, Sean. It's fun seeing people put their hands to something, and succeed. In your case of handles recently, it just seems like you've been doing it for a long while. Nice work.
If you ever end up discarding any other "plain" handles, send them my way, will ya? :P

Installed this just now. Pinecone handle from bensbites, was in the classifieds recently. Ben filled the tang hole with beeswax. I heated the tang in boiling water cause I didn't have a blow torch. Worked great. Very easy. Very happy with the results and love the match with the Koishi.

Did this for myself, so I’ll share. Just a beautiful piece of Amboyna with ebony and copper.

Picked up this Mazaki 150 petty, which measures about 160. It sat on a shelf till it got jazzed up and put into rotation. It’s a great knife, my wife’s new favorite. I highly recommend it for someone looking into a petty.

Really like the African Blackwood and the Mazaki KU seems to match very well with how the colors turned out on that handle. Really cool looking knives. How are you liking the Tanaka Ginsan performance wise? I've had my eye on that one for a while.
