First Wa handle

Post by Joshigon »

Here she folks, what you have all been waiting for.

I made this for my wife. It's on a 210 Kohetsu SLD. The handle is Tulip wood with a stabilized redheart ferrule. I stabilized the ferrule myself.
The balance point is on the pinch.

Cool handle Josh. It definitely changes the personality of that SLD.

Thanks Steve. It was much easier than I thought it was going to be. No bump between handle and ferrule. The install is tight and straight.

That's a good looking handle, especially for the first one. Great job!

Looks like a beauty! As a hobbyist woodworker I tend to do impractical things for the fun of it. How did you stabilize the redheart wood? I think it would be fun and totally impractical to put wa handles on my Artiflex gyutos.
