Care to share with me as well? I am really enjoying handlemaking. I have a short queue of friends from a BBQ forum already lining up.GopherBroke wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2017 8:36 am Thanks!

This one was a while ago, but I'm almost certain that this knife is the stainless version. There is also a W#2 available.
The handle certainly improved the feel of the knife, but I was not at all impressed with the blade itself. At least not at the asking price they get for it

There are far, FAR too many variables and personal aspects for me to answer that, at all.. especially accurately.
I would recommend that you head to the Knife Recommendation thread, here, and post a new thread. Make sure to file out the questionnaire below so that I and others get a better understanding of what you're looking for in the knife, etc.
Are you looking for a laser - super sharp, thin, light as possible?"
Or are you looking for a more mid-weight, all-purpose knife?
There are countless options, and you're rely to ^ should help us narrow it down for ya.

I am sure the handle helped the overall feel of the knife. I have a Ginga, and I really like the blade but it does not fit in my hand exactly how I want it to. It is a shame as the handle itself is quite nice and the ferrule has some gorgeous marbling in it. However, I feel that the stock handle is oversized for the knife. Not only in diameter but it also has about an inch of length that makes it quite cumbersome in use as it hits my forearm. Normally this would not be an issue but the blade is only 41.5mm tall and it messes me all up. Like I said, a gorgeous handle but would be better suited for a larger knife overall.GopherBroke wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2017 8:27 am This one was a while ago, but I'm almost certain that this knife is the stainless version. It could also be partially because I hate octagon handles. They are bulky and awkward, to me. I really don't know what it is. But as you said, something about the feel of the knife is off. However, performance, no issues there. Zip, zip, zip everything on the board is dead.
Anyway, that is a good looking handle and we might have to talk in the future. I like basic, basic, basic stuff, though. Do you do D handles?

@Kit
I don't recall the factory handle at all.
This one was Carols', and she likes ovals... and has small lil lady mitts.
I rarely pay much attention to factory handles, so I can't say that I recall the factory model, at all.
Ya don't like octagonal huh?
Hmm.. I know a guy who makes a handle that several have said "is the most comfortable handle I've ever used!".
I have not done a "D".
I don't care for them much myself, so little to no effort in to it so far.

I should say that I have not liked the octagon handles that I have used thus far. They tend to be on the beefy side. I like oval handles just fine though. They type you make look to be the best of both worlds, which is interesting. A for the D shape, I find it odd that so many don't like them. Maybe I am the odd one out there. Again, it might be the specific handles I have used and not the shape at all.GopherBroke wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2017 7:42 am @Kit
