5000 Nubatama Bamboo Video

Post by ken123 »

Just came across this video. Its a favorite 5k stone. Reminds me of the Rika - just a bit finer and creamy.

Ken, I like the looks of that stone, How would that stone compare with my Shapton Pro 5K as far as speed of sharpening on W and B steel knives?

Your biggest difference will be feedback and feel. Lots more. Reminds me of the 5k Rika but a higher true 5k grit.

I have the 5k or 6K Cerax and I don't like how it dishes so easily. I never tried the Rika but can you tell me how the 5K Bamboo differs from the 5K Shapton Pro?

LOTS of feedback. Minimal dishing - almost none. Fast precise cutter.

Shapton pro 5k is, imo, the worst stone in their line up. Horrible feedback. If this is closer to the Rika with less dishing it's a win.

Ken, would like to try this out. Do you have any in stock?

Is it a soaking-stone, or a splash-and-go one?

Here's my original 5k Nubatama video. Pretty.much of a splash and go.
