So I have a couple of natural stones which I got from my dad (a woodworker) back in the fall when he was cleaning out his multiple tool collections under duress from his significant other. Most of them were unlabeled, the one that still had the characters on it I thought I had a picture of before I used a nagura stone. But evidently can't find it. I think it resembles this one https://www.chefknivestogo.com/atmequ.html But I don't remember the top characters, I have a bit of elementary chinese so I know/ sort of remember the bottom characters (kanji being taken from chinese). It definitely had that red sticker which I believe is some kyoto miners association stamp? With a lot of discussion here about naturals recently I thought I'd see what I have.
So here they are:
<--- This is the one with the red sticker
<--- This one he got used when a Bay Area Japanese woodworking shop was closing, never saw any kanji on it. It comes in a box seen in the picture with that number if its useful
<--- This one has the kanji on it, same shop
Lastly a large synthetic stone.
Box:
Also any helpful advice on where these fit in my line up of other stones would be appreciated. They're also all in practice splash and go right?
I also have a Shapton Pro 120, 1000, 8000 and Shapton Glass 500, 2000, 4000, 16000, and an Atoma 400 plate.
Thanks.

Cool collection.
The last box has the same kanji stamp on it as the Kitayama stone that we sell: https://www.chefknivestogo.com/takenoko8000.html

Have the exact same stone. Purchased in Japan - I was careless and chipped a corner pretty good (about 20% of the stone - is that a chip?) so I bought a Mizuyama 6K at Korin long ago.Jeff B wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 7:36 pmThat's an Arashiyama 6K/Takenoko 8k....not that I noticed.ChefKnivesToGo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 7:47 am Cool collection.

Re: Questions about identifying stones I have
Thanks. Has this always been splash and go in the description? I've noticed this particular stone does soak up water unlike my shaptons so I assumed it was a soaking stone or have their been older models that are not? If it is splash and go that's definitely good to know because the extra size I do feel makes things easier, and splash and go is much less of a mess, especially in an apartment.ChefKnivesToGo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 21, 2018 7:47 am Cool collection.

Thanks for the responses, anyone any idea about the naturals? Even rough visual guesses?
