Diamond paste

Post by Drafter »

I want to experiment with some diamond paste that works. I bought some for 15 dollars it was almost waxy in consistency and just not what I thought it would be so I was going to try the dmt or Richmond 1 micron version but I don't want to get some globby waxy mess on a strop so can I use one of the brands of paste mentioned or do I need the spray.

I have the Richmond and would not say it is waxy. It spreads easily in a balsa strop.

I have both the Richmond and Ken Schwartz's compounds. Neither has been "waxy" although I prefer to use them on balsa or directly on the stones themselves.

If you're going to try using it on a JNAT be sure it's water soluble though.
