I got 2 as gifts. I've already got the mk4 myself and love the rotating screen and auto backlight.

Drat...looks like the sale is already over. Will be watching for the next. Have and love the earlier version but like a lot about this upgrade.

Unless you are going to take it scuba diving,why do you need an MK4. Isn't water resistant or water proof all it has over the cheaper Classic? Just wondering.

The mk4 has an automatic backlit display, which I love cause of all the BBQing I do in the winter. The display also rotates so that it's always in the proper orientation. I think those are both upgrades from the classic.

And uses a AAA Battery instead of those CR2032 batteries. Also Motion-sensing sleep & wake mode...for what it's worth.
