WTS: Fujii Keiichi Stainless Clad W#1 270 Gyuto

Post by pd7077 »

I picked this knife up from Tower Knives when I was in Japan a year and a half ago. It’s stainless clad W#1 by Fujii Keiichi. I polished and etched the knife, which brought out some unexpected banding in the stainless cladding. I knocked off the stock ho handle and replaced it with a nicer rosewood/horn handle that I had laying around. The knife has been sharpened a few times, most recently finished on an Aiiwatani tomae and stropped on roo.

Knife Specs
Edge length: 260mm
Heel height: 49mm
Weight: 215g
Spine @ handle: 3.0mm
Spine @ heel: 2.8mm
Spine halfway: 2.2mm
Spine 1” from tip: 1.4mm
Balance point: about 1-1/2” from the heel (at the base of the bottom kanji character)

Purchased for $350; asking $275 shipped & insured ConUS. International buyers add $15.

Holy cargo pants, that's a great looking blade there. If it were more in my size preference I'd be slapping myself for missing this

Ok 😁

When I see a knife that’s been polished by Steve I get tempted. In my eyes, the polish alone is worth the price paid.

It was probably nice to begin with but now it’s in a whole other class. And yeah, I’m serious about that offer!
