Micro mesh pads

Post by Kalaeb »

For those of you using micro mesh pads to clean up the blade face after major thinning, what grit stone do you stop at before pulling out the pads?

My understanding is the micro mesh pads start at about 300 grit. I can’t seem to find that link anymore. If I can’t cite my source your mileage might vary. I have only used micro mesh to polish turned pens on the lathe.

Try using this grit chart to sort out the micron equivalent for your pads and then for the stones you are transitioning from.
