Recent Work

Post by Carter »

These two knives are for one customer. The first is a 210mm blade I made from 52100, it has a Hawaiian mango handle with buffalo horn and nickel-silver spacers. The other is a re-handle of his 210mm TF...he asked me to copy a handle that I had recently done on another blade that I made....it is dyed box elder with horn and copper spacers.

Carter,
Again, thank you so much for a beautiful knife and rehandling. I have tracking and they should be here Friday, I am anxious to see them in person. Please keep us updated on the forced patina, very interested to see how it turns out.

I do love that box elder handle. Your knife and the TF both look great with that handle.

Tracking my package as well, and it's also slated for a Friday delivery. I guess I won't be the only one spending extra time in the kitchen this weekend :D

Hope you guys enjoy the knives....been a pleasure to work with you both. Did a patina on a polished suji today....turned out with golden hues and should be cool. The 245mm gyuto above is going to be a really nice blade...the profile and geometry seem right.

I made this 210mm gyuto for Chef Nina in Miami. The handle is box elder burl with mother of pearl and nickel-silver accents. The saya is East Indian rosewood with a nickel-silver pin. The blade is heat treated to 62HRC and it took a great edge.

Really great looking knives!

Are they all 52100 and heat treated in house?

Yes, they are heat treated in house to 62HRC.

I have 3 knives headed out to Steve G in a week or so....maybe we could do a pass around with them.....stay tuned.
